Ducentic - shaped by our legacy

Our history began in 1825 when the first porcelain factory was built in Gustavsberg. Over time, Gustavsberg became the bathroom manufacturer that transformed Sweden from dirty to clean. From the start, it was clear to us: with good design, we can improve people's lives. That's why we have always focused on the human aspect in our design process, letting the challenges and dreams of bathroom life shape our products. And now, after generations of bathroom building, we are launching Ducentic – a brand-new, ultra-modern bathroom series with truly old roots. A result of our long history and everything we have learned along the way from important toothbrushing sessions, unforgettable handwashes, and memorable morning rituals.

The series takes its name from 'ducenti,' the Latin word for two hundred. And that was precisely the goal of the collection: to reflect our long heritage in something new and modern. We call the style traditional minimalism – a future design classic.

Materials that stand the test of time.
Design that outlasts momentarial trends.

In Ducentic, history and modern design don’t just coexist—they enrich each other. The collection is also defined by its carefully curated materials. Solid oak, stone, steel, brass, and, of course, the very foundation of our craft—porcelain—come together in perfect harmony. Each material is chosen to withstand a long and beautiful bathroom life, designed to be as pleasing to the touch as they are to the eye.

Ducentic – a sculpted tribute to the heritage

With Ducentic, designers Jenny and Jiro Arborgh at Yellon have created a collection that honors 200 years of craftsmanship while shaping the future of Scandinavian bathroom design. Designing for a legacy as rich as Gustavsberg’s requires more than just form-making; it demands a conversation with history.

Ducentic is more than a collection; it is a statement of Gustavsberg’s most refined design philosophy. By embracing depth, material authenticity, and a sculptural approach, it brings a thoughtful aesthetic into the home—one that feels timeless, intentional, and effortlessly elegant.

Instead of abrupt intersections, forms transition seamlessly, creating a sense of refinement and continuity. From the curve of a lever to the proportions of a cabinet, each detail is designed to enhance both function and tactile experience.
