Celebrating 200 years was something truly special – it gave us the opportunity to both look back at everything we had achieved and look ahead to the many exciting years that lay before us.
The anniversary not only celebrated our history, but also reminded us of the passion and drive that continue to keep us moving forward.
The beauty of function
Back when we started making bathrooms, our idea was to add a little beauty. Not just the appearance itself, but the experience as a whole: from extended sitting and flushing to hand-washing and quick showers. To achieve our aim we got to know the people who would be using our bathrooms.
That’s how we have always worked – with real life as our starting point. The result? A long history of solutions that make life in the bathroom better, simpler and thus more beautiful.
With ergonomics, function and innovation in every little detail, we create bathroom solutions for everyone. No matter whether your home is big or small, or whether you prefer a classic or a modern expression. No matter whether you are building a bathroom at a hotel, a hospital or in a public setting.
Our goal is to find solutions to the challenges of bathroom life, big and small. That is why quality and sustainability are simply questions of hygiene for us. As well as simple installation and repairs – and solutions that save water, energy and money.
Let’s wind back the clock
In 1825 wholesaler Herman Öhman built a porcelain factory, laying the foundations for what Gustavsberg is today. However, just two years later everything was on the point of collapse.
Sustainability and the environment
We have always fought to solve the challenges of the age: in the early 1900s we were involved in construction projects designed to eliminate “Crap Sweden” as it was known, and during the oil crisis of the 1970s we developed solutions to save energy and water – issues that are still highly relevant today.
By constantly challenging the established order and developing new solutions, we strive to lead the industry toward a higher standard in the fields of energy and climate, as well as occupational health and safety.
