Type approval / CE marking
A type approval is proof that a product meets the current technical requirements for a specific product. The requirements are based on European functional standards but may also contain special national requirements, e.g. does Finland require dezincification resistant materials (DZR brass). There is type approval for all product categories within our range and the approvals show whether the product may be installed in a building in accordance with the national building regulations. A type approval is issued by certified test institutes in each country.
CE marking is a harmonized European technical requirement that shows whether a product is suitable for installation in properties in Europe. EU law says that if a product category has a CE mark, there must be no local type approvals. A CE approval is certified by us as a producer through a DOP (declaration of performance).
