Energy classification
Since 2012, there has been a Swedish standard for energy classification of tap water fittings; SS-820000 and SS-820001. The aim is to be able to compare a mixer's energy performance in combination with its function. All mixers are classified according to measurement methods and are then assigned an energy class label, containing e.g. article number and which energy class the product meets. The system makes it easier for all types of customers to choose a water- and energy-smart mixer for their project or household. Both calculations and practical cases show large energy savings when using energy-efficient mixers according to the standard.
The goal of the Swedish Standards Institute and the Energy Agency is that the classification should be raised to the European level and be the same in all countries.
