Gustavsberg Care meets the requirements of healthcare
Bathroom products for hospitals, healthcare and social care must meet strict requirements in hygiene, durability, accessibility and energy consumption. Gustavsberg Care is an adapted range for care with products that are accepted by "Byggvarubedömningen", have undergone LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and are developed to meet "Guidelines for health care hygiene aspects". Another important aspect is that the products will be available for a long time and then we guarantee that there are spare parts at least 10 years after they have been discontinued.
The right choice for care
Gustavsberg Care has been developed in collaboration with healthcare authorities and we are alone in being able to offer different product types that together guarantee functional requirements and that meet our own high quality requirements. By being able to provide a project with complete solutions as the only supplier, we can guarantee quality, functionality and the best possible accessibility for everyone.
Package solutions that simplify
Within Gustavsberg Care, we have developed complete product packages for different types of care rooms. All packages consist of products with guaranteed compatibility, and the concept and products have been developed, tested and evaluated in close collaboration with healthcare.
Nursing room
Each care room has a sink and mixer for good hand hygiene. We have put together a complete package containing wash basin, mixer, bottom valve and water trap developed according to "Guidelines for healthcare hygiene aspects". The overflow channel in the wash basin is, for example, closed and the wash basin has no bracket holes to reduce the risk of bacterial growth. The mixer is equipped with a laminar beam collector that minimizes aerosols.
General care
Visitor toilets and toilets adjacent to waiting rooms and staff areas must also meet accessibility requirements. Here, Gustavsberg Care's complete washbasin package can be combined with the toilet that fits best and any accessories such as e.g. armrest.
Nursing room toilet
For nursing room toilets adjacent to patient rooms, complete wash basin packages are available to combine with the toilet that fits best and any accessories such as e.g. armrest.
Within the Care range, we have developed a floor-standing and a wall-hung toilet that are developed according to "Guidelines for care hygiene aspects". The toilets have an ergonomic raised flush button and Hygienic Flush which, with the open flush edge, simplifies cleaning and good hygiene. Even the raised lower part at the tank removes the space where dirt can collect, which facilitates cleaning. The floor-standing toilet has a seat height of 460 mm from the floor, 40 mm higher than standard, which increases accessibility.
Within Care there are also customized shower sets that meet the guidelines. They are made of lead-free materials, just like the rest of the range, and are equipped with a drain valve that drains residual water to minimize the risk of legionella growth.
Hospitals are constantly developing and it is our job to understand concepts, be responsive and offer the right range. We are alone in being able to offer products that together guarantee functional requirements and that meet the market's requirements - that is our greatest strength.
In the long perspective
Gustavsberg constantly strives for a wise and efficient way of working. Products and concepts must have a long-term sustainable perspective and with a partner and bathroom supplier who can own the entire bathroom concept, you save time and money during all phases, not least in the management phase.
Within Gustavsberg Care, we place great focus on looking ahead and ensuring that the range meets the market's requirements - but the management perspective is also important. The result of working with a project partner is a beneficial Total Cost of Ownership where the goal is to take into account all costs, from purchasing to service and management.
Environmental commitment at all levels
Our environmental commitment takes place on all fronts. It starts in our manufacturing, where there is ongoing development work to develop more sustainable working methods and more environmentally friendly materials for our products. We have a strong focus on developing products that achieve all the tough requirements set by selected product certifications and assessment bodies.
We also work continuously to reduce the amount of packaging and to minimize transport weight and reduce our footprint on the environment during the journey to construction projects. When the product is then installed and the user phase begins, smart water and energy saving functions will help to promote both the environment and the building for many years.
Gustavsberg has been part of community building since 1920 and the ambition is to continue adding added value to society. Society makes new and higher demands - which in turn drives Gustavsberg's constant development forward. Our long experience in the project market is your peace of mind.
In safe hands with Gustavsbergs Care
Good hygiene and accessibility are in Gustavsberg's DNA. In 2010, Gustavsberg was invited to design the New Karolinska Hospital, NKS, in Solna. In close collaboration with some of the world's most prominent healthcare companies, several unique products were developed and many of these are today standard in healthcare. Through dialogue and a long-term perspective, the Gustavsberg Care concept has been developed and the products, together with our experience and our organization, enable us to offer package solutions for safe bathrooms in hospitals, care and social care.
As your project partner, we are involved, responsive and eager to share our knowledge of products and solutions. Our experience should be your security.
Spare parts
A product's lifespan is absolutely decisive when it comes to calculating its environmental impact, and therefore our focus on spare parts is important from a recycling perspective. Many of our products are made of materials that have a long life and can withstand long-term wear and tear, therefore there are usually only a few parts that will need to be replaced. We can offer newly developed spare parts that upgrade older products (so-called upcycling kits) and provide the same new smart functionalities as new products. With the option to upgrade products, you no longer have to choose between recycling and switching to a more resource-efficient alternative – you can have both.
